Heavy Duty Metal Protector Made with special rust and corrosion inhibitors. Excellent on metal surfaces, leaves a long-lasting protective coating. Protects against the effects of salt, moisture & chemical corrosion. Works as an undercoat, leaving a wax-like amber film.
A long time customer favorite which has been around forever. Farmers, machinists, mechanics, plumbers and steel workers all find this product invaluable. I use it anywhere you may have tried grease but didn’t want to attract all the dust and dirt. Heavy linkage, hinges and any metal to metal surface can be better protected with AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Metal Protector. Often bought by the case by combine operators. Great on chains, cables, actuators and run of the mill doohickies.

AMSOIL Heavy Duty Metal Protector often referred to as our undercoating spray, helps protect metal surfaces that require a heavy-duty lubricant or are exposed to the damaging effects of salt, moisture or chemical corrosion. Ideal for hinges, wire ropes and springs, nuts and bolts, motorcycle or bicycle chains, and for undercoating wheel wells and other metal surfaces exposed to water, dirt or road salt.
The three aluminum pieces in the upper left were treated with Heavy-Duty Metal Protector on their lower halves, while the three aluminum pieces in the upper right were untreated. The three steel pieces in the lower left were treated with Heavy-Duty Metal Protector on their lower halves, while the three steel pieces in the lower right were untreated. Following treatment, the pieces were placed in a 5 percent saltwater bath (the same salt and a similar solution to what vehicles and equipment are exposed to on winter roadways) for one hour, removed and allowed to dry for 23 hours. This process was repeated for 10 days. As seen in the pictures, the portions treated with Heavy-Duty Metal Protector show no signs of corrosion. |
Automotive and trailer undercoat, spare tire carriers, battery terminals, tailgate hinges, handheld tools, snow plows, mower decks and blades, snowblowers, skid-steer attachments, farm machinery, fork lifts, metal gates/fences and much more.
Shake well before use. Clean target area prior to application. Apply in a uniform and even manner. For precision application, use extension straw. Allow to dry for two hours. For best results, allow to cure for 12 hours. Use AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Degreaser to remove overspray.
AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Metal Protector is available in 15-oz. spray cans.

Love this stuff !! I spray it on everything underneath. Pickups, trailers, quad axle. Keeps the Wisconsin salt at bay ! Better than tar undercoating because it’s a soft wax like coating you can work with. I freshen the coating every year and my 2011 Chevy 2600 HD has no rust ! Awesome protectant !!

What can I say about this. Nothing bad. It used to be labeled, but not branded as “Motorcycle Chain Lube” in addition to heavy duty metal protector. I can see how this could work well for a motorcycle chain. This dries out to a waxy consistency, like “clean grease”. I use it for garage door tracks, things like that. You spray it on and it does not move much. Dries and you are good to go. I have used it on some old car seat spring assemblies as well, and think that the automakers used something like this for that and seat tracks which I have done as well. Can’t remember the name now, but remember that it is very similar to the stuff the military used to use to store any kind of metal weapon, long term. Starts with a C. This MP HD stuff I believe is the same.
