It’s also the only filter which I know of that offers full disclosure., “98% at 20 microns”. Other filters will offer some impressive numbers on the carton but close examination will reveal these are only half truths such as 100% efficient per test # 4548-12 which is true with every filter at a determined micron but what is the micron? Others will claim their oil filter filters to 5-micron (quote from local Harley shop) and then say, “The AMSOIL one is a 20.” which is a illogical use of words. Every filter is 5-micron but at a different percentage. So what is the percentage? And the Nano-Fiber technology does indeed allow for more capacity. Imagine placing a tennis ball in a chain link fence then looking at the available area for the dirt to flow through that now blocked cell – then take a mosquito net, place it over the same cell and lay the tennis ball on top – you now see how the oil can pass through almost the entire surface. The nanofibers are roughly 1/100th of the diameter of a single cellulose or synthetic cellulose fiber. Thus making the holes smaller, the technology prevents reduced capacity. The physical appearance of the fibers look similar to a loose mesh of asbestos – nothing like typical paper filters.

 Absolute Efficiency
Efficiency is the filter’s ability to capture contaminants. The more efficient a filter is, the more contaminants it will remove from the oil. AMSOIL Ea Oil Filters have one of the best efficiency ratings in the automotive/light-truck market. Ea Oil Filters provide a filtering efficiency in accordance with industry standard ISO 4548-12 of 98.7 percent at 20 microns, while competitive filters demonstrate efficiencies as low as 51 percent (see graph).

Less Restriction

During cold-temperature warmup periods, an Ea Oil Filter allows the oil to flow through the filter more easily than a typical cellulose filter does. Lower restriction decreases engine wear.

Service Life
When used in conjunction with AMSOIL synthetic motor oils, AMSOIL Ea Oil Filters are guaranteed for extended service life:

• Ea Filters designated with product code Ea15K are recommended for 15,000 miles/one year, whichever comes first, in normal or severe service.
• Ea Filters designated with product code EaO are recommended for 25,000 miles/one year, whichever comes first, in normal service or 15,000 miles/one year, whichever comes first, in severe service.
