What’s New about Reformulated OE Synthetic Motor Oil?

First Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil, then XL Synthetic Motor Oil.

Now, OE Synthetic Motor Oil is our latest oil to undergo a formulation change and facelift.

What’s New?

Everything. The oil inside the bottle, the label…essentially everything except the name.

Excellent Wear Protection

The protection the oil delivers is even different, as in better. The added protection is particularly important in the extreme environments produced by today’s smaller displacement engines that often run lower viscosity oil.

Camshaft wear, for example, can result in poor valve timing, greatly reducing engine efficiency and leading to expensive repairs. The Peugeot TU3M Wear Test (CEC L-38-A-94), which must be passed to meet the GM dexos1® Gen 2 specification, determines a motor oil’s ability to limit wear. For 100 hours the four-cylinder test engine is subjected to extreme, wear-inducing conditions.

AMSOIL OE Motor Oil provided 47 percent more wear protection* than required by the GM dexos1 Gen 2 specification.

Fights LSPI

I hope you’re sick of hearing about low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) by now. That means you’ve been reading our blog, because we’ve written about it ad nauseam the past several months.

Well, I’m not stopping now.

OE Synthetic Motor Oil features unique chemistry proven to protect your engine against the harmful effects of LSPI – the spontaneous ignition of the fuel/air mixture prior to spark-triggered ignition. Most new engines feature gasoline direct injection (GDI), often coupled with a turbocharger. These technologies heighten the possibility of LSPI events, which can destroy pistons and connecting rods. A properly formulated motor oil is critical for protecting your engine against LSPI.

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) like GM have addressed the issue by designing tests to determine a motor oil’s ability to prevent LSPI. OE Synthetic Motor Oil achieved 100 percent protection against LSPI** in the engine test required by the GM dexos1 Gen 2 specification – zero occurrences were recorded throughout five consecutive tests.

Keeps Engines Clean

Everyone likes a clean engine, especially the inside. OE Synthetic Motor Oil naturally resists chemical breakdown to help prevent deposits. Its detergent and dispersant additives give OE excellent sludge- and deposit-fighting properties. OE Synthetic Motor Oil helps keep your engine clean, reliable and running at peak performance.

Who’s it for?

If Signature Series is for enthusiasts who demand the best engine protection available and XL Synthetic Motor Oil is for those who want to do a little something extra for their vehicles, who’s OE for?

It’s for drivers who want peace-of-mind protection combined with excellent value from a full synthetic oil. Some motorists aren’t ready to spend nearly $10 per quart or to extend their drain intervals to one year. We get that. But they still want excellent protection combined with a price they’re accustomed to paying.

If that’s you, OE Synthetic Motor Oil is the perfect fit. It offers everything you want in a high-quality synthetic at a price and drain interval that fits your lifestyle.
