AMSOIL Synthetic Water-Resistant Grease is an extreme-pressure grease formulated specially for wet-duty performance. Composed of premium-quality synthetic base oils and calcium-sulfonate complex thickeners, Water-Resistant Grease provides exceptional film strength, shear resistance, adhesion properties and mechanical stability. Its water-washout and sprayoff resistance are outstanding for applications frequently exposed to water, mud, snow or ice, including ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles and boat trailers.

Water-Washout and Sprayoff Protection
The superior wet-duty performance of AMSOIL Synthetic Water-Resistant Grease can be credited to its outstanding cohesive and adhesive properties. It holds together when exposed to water and clings tenaciously to metal surfaces when wet, protecting components during prolonged exposure to standing or pressurized water.

Corrosion Protection
Frequent or prolonged water contact can increase corrosion, resulting in damage to metal surfaces and compromised components. Water-Resistant Grease seals metal surfaces and chemically fights corrosion, making it an ideal solution for applications with extensive exposure to water, mud, snow or ice.

Load-Carrying and Extreme-Pressure Performance
AMSOIL Synthetic Water-Resistant Grease protects components from metal-to-metal contact even under heavy loads. Its extreme-pressure additives protect against sustained or sudden extreme loads for dependable protection against wear.

Application Recommendation
AMSOIL Synthetic Water-Resistant Grease meets the highest performance standards set by the National Lubrication Grease Institute (NLGI) for wheel bearing applications (GC) and chassis applications (LB). It may be used in automotive wheel bearings, chassis or other applications for which an NLGI No. 2 GC or LB grease is recommended.

Compatibility
AMSOIL Synthetic Water-Resistant Grease is compatible with many other types of greases. However, it is recommended that, when changing greases, the equipment be cleaned of the old grease when possible or flushed with a liberal amount of Water-Resistant Grease while the mechanism is in operation. Closely monitor the system for any inconsistencies. Grease compatibility questions should be referred to your AMSOIL representative or AMSOIL INC.

APPLICATION MAINTENANCE
Maintaining a clean work environment is important when equipment greasing is performed. Wipe grease fittings clean prior to injecting grease to prevent contaminant ingestion. Maintain bearing housings one-third to one-half full of grease. Do not over-grease, as excessive heat buildup can result. Supplement standard grease maintenance by cleaning and packing housings with fresh grease on an established maintenance schedule.

AMSOIL PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
AMSOIL Synthetic Water-Resistant Grease is available in 3-oz. cartridges, 14-oz. cartridges, 35-lb. lugs and 120-lb. kegs.

From a recent blog regarding towing or pulling trailers:

In addition to staying within weight limits for your rig, be sure the tires are in good condition and properly inflated. Be sure to check your wheel bearings, too. An overheated bearing will sideline your rig as fast as a flat tire. Check out this video on bearing maintenance.

Do Transmission Fluid Additives Work? John Baker| Feb 26, 2024 9:04 AM Walk the aisles of most auto parts stores and you’ll find multiple “mechanic-in-a-bottle”-type additives that claim to restore transmission performance. The claims made typically include some variation of the following: • Frees stuck valves to improve shifting • Fixes transmission slipping • Restores smooth […]

Understanding Oil Viscosity Viscosity is the measure of a fluid’s resistance to flow. _by David Hilgendorf|January 17, 2023 The physical properties of lubricants are measured by characteristics like viscosity, shear stability, high- and low-temperature performance, water resistance and volatility. Lubrication science seeks to optimize a lubricant’s performance by managing these properties using different base oils […]
